DPC Participates at the Inaugural Consumer Protection Commission of Zimbabwe Annual Consumer Conference

The Corporation participated at the inaugural Annual Consumer Conference, hosted by the Consumer Protection Commission of Zimbabwe (CPCZ), at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo from 20 to 21 November 2025. This landmark event brought together industry leaders, regulators, and stakeholders from across the region, all united by a shared commitment to safeguarding consumers and preventing the proliferation of counterfeit products in our markets.

DPC Bulawayo Regional Manager, Mr Charles Kusaya, was privileged to address the conference, delivering an insightful presentation on the ways in which the Deposit Protection Corporation (DPC) safeguards banking consumers in the face of bank failures. He clarified what types of deposits are covered by DPC and explained the practical workings of the deposit protection system. His presentation underscored the critical role that deposit protection plays in maintaining confidence in Zimbabwe’s financial sector and ensuring the stability of our banking system.

The Conference provided a vital platform for dialogue and collaboration, fostered meaningful discussions about consumer rights and market integrity and strengthened the resolve of all participants to continue advocating for consumer protection.

DPC remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering and protecting depositors across Zimbabwe. By collaborating with regulators, industry partners, and the broader community, we believe we can create a safer and more transparent marketplace for everyone.
