On Friday, 22 May 2026, the Deposit Protection Corporation (DPC) delivered a public lecture on Deposit Insurance to undergraduate students in the Accounting and Finance Department at Lupane State University.

This initiative is part of the DPC’s ongoing commitment to promoting public awareness and financial literacy, aiming to enhance understanding of deposit insurance and strengthen confidence in Zimbabwe’s financial sector. The session, held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, was facilitated by Mr. Charles Kusaya and Ms. Mongi Manyoba from the DPC Bulawayo Regional Office.

Students and faculty staff engaged in an interactive session focused on the DPC’s mandate and core functions, with special emphasis on its role in protecting depositors’ funds and supporting financial system stability. Attendees gained valuable insights into the mechanics of deposit insurance, the necessity of safeguarding depositors, and the DPC’s contribution to fostering public trust in banking institutions.
